Placing children first means having a first-class team and our team is the very best in the business. More important than our Monroe location, or any facility on our campus, is the nurturing, spirited staff, excited to teach campers the many Rosmarins traditions, and have fun!

Rosmarins’ dedicated, talented staff is the heart of camp, committed to helping campers learn, grow and have more fun than they ever imagined possible! Campers build confidence and skills in a healthy, safe, nurturing, and energizing setting. Our extremely low camper-to-staff ratios ensure individualized attention and support.

The entire staff receive extensive pre-camp training in safety, child-development, and camp procedures, and participates in performance evaluations and a merit based incentive program throughout the summer.

A full-time Camp Nurse is on site at all times.

Experienced Summer Camp Leadership Team

The Rosmarins Day Camp leadership team is second to none! Our Directors are the expert eyes and ears of camp, supervising every aspect of our program, constantly interacting with campers, counselors, and specialists.

Top-Level Specialists

Our exceptional activities are taught by specialists in their fields who challenge and encourage campers to grow and develop new skills. Top notch swim instructors get the the kids swimming and loving it. The athletics coaches expose campers to new sports and games and give them the chance to practice favorites.

Energetic Nurturing Counselors

Caring, attentive general counselors, led by a Group Leader, are with your children from when they get off the morning bus until they are picked up late in the afternoon, escorting campers from program to program. They are committed to making sure our campers are safe, having fun and getting the most out of their summer.

Jeanette Geller

Now that it’s 2018, 16 summers! Who would have thought that coming to pick my son up in my tennis whites after working at my former camp would have turned into me becoming a member of the Rosmarins Day Camp family. I was offered a position as the Tennis Specialist for the following summer which evolved into helping out in the office and wherever needed, to official camp photographer, and now actually holding down the fort in the office for the last 11 or so summers. My office duties over these summers have gone from computer technician, to typist, to newsletter editor, to transportation, all of which I continue to do. I have never been a Rosmarins camper, but I do enjoy watching the campers have fun, especially when I join them in their activities.

During the fall and spring, I am a professor of cyber security/networking at Rockland Community College and also chair of the Computer Assisted Design, Computer Studies, and Cyber Security departments.

Karen Hartmann

Camp Nurse

When campers scrape their knee, get a bug bite, or poison ivy, the Camp Nurse is ready and waiting with a bandaid, some calamine lotion, a warm smile, and some reassurance. For some of the very hot days, the air conditioned facility is a comfortable place for campers to lay quietly and recharge their batteries.

Ali Evans

Outdoor Specialist

I am a Navy Veteran and small business owner. I train individuals and communities in resiliency and emergency preparedness. I am also a New York State Licensed Guide for the Department of Environmental Conservation as well as an active volunteer with the Red Cross. I have had an interest in archery, preparedness and the outdoors since I was a child, and have acquired Level 3 Coach credentials from USA Archery. This is my 2nd year with Rosmarins and I have expanded my offerings to include orienteering and I will also be working with Project Adventure.

Lubomira Sieradzka

Lubomira has been part of the Rosmarins camp family since 2016. She has been working with children for about 10 years in various roles including serving as a teaching assistant, an English teacher, and an Art History teacher. She has a BA in English and history and has completed coursework towards a Masters in Teaching with a specialization in Adolescent English. She plans on returning to school to pursue a career in design. She enjoys working with kids and encouraging their creative sides. This summer she hopes will be messy, fun, and fantastically colorful in arts and crafts.

Chuck Johnston

Tennis Instructor

Chuck Johnston has been a Certified Tennis Professional for over 23 years. Chuck has been a Head Pro at Powelton Club, Sportsplex, and The Monroe Tennis Club. He has taught students of all levels and is committed to improving campers’ tennis skills. A camper improved is a happy camper. See you on the courts!

Donnette Hill Walto

Namasté! My name is Donnette Hill Walto. As a yoga practitioner and teacher for more than 20 years there is nothing I love more then to see kids get excited about yoga. They are masters at movement whether it be standing (and wobbling) in tree pose or trying to do warriors I, II and III in the pool. What amazes me (and them) the most is to see the inner stillness that comes from just a few moments of relaxation. Connecting breath, movement and laughter is what I love to do. I am honored to bring these connections to the Campers at Rosmarins this summer.
